BOOB-QUAKE 2010

BoobQuake 2010 has now come and gone, with no more earthquakes than is normal, and the world of science is indebted to Miss Jennifer McCreight (pronounced Mc-Right, as is appropriate for a female).  Although only 22-ish, Jennifer was astute enough to pick up on the recent announcement by Iranian religious authorities that immodestly displayed female wobbly bits were the root cause of seismic upheavals.  Learn more of the back-story here, and of Jennifer here.

Readers should note that the Daily Moaner’s motivation in picturing Jen here is to promote a proper spirit of scientific enquiry, and is in no way related to the fact that she is amazingly good to look at.  She is believed to be personally responsible for several minor tremors.

Jen is an American, which seems a hard thing to say about anyone, though she is an intelligent  American, which are kind of thin on the ground.  At present she is trapped in Indiana, but we’re sure she’ll fight her way out soon.

In a spirit of scientific endeavour, she organised a fighting force of like-minded women, who agreed to display themselves on Monday — BoobQuake Day 2010  –  in order to measure the cumulative effect.  Although some displays did  cause a few localised upheavals within the male population, the observed effect on the earth’s crust was zero.  So another theory has been laid to rest, though the Daily Moaner believes that further trials should be conducted.

Arrest This Woman!

Bunker-Busting Boobs

Remember a day or so ago, when the Daily Moaner exposed the female conspiracy currently causing so many earthquakes on this planet, the only one we’ve got?  You can read it here

The scandal was brought to light by Iranian Ayatollah Kazem Sedighi, who had noticed the almost perfect correlation between the exposure of female wobbly bits and titanic upheavals in the earth’s crust.

But one women has taken the story personally.  This is Jennifer McCreight —  a one-woman planet-buster, who looks as if butter wouldn’t melt…  Jennifer has set up a Facebook “Boobquake” page, and already has more than 20,000 other women committed to flashing their boobs and strutting their stuff on Monday next.  Here’s a link to both the story and Jennifer’s  Facebook page.

That’s Monday next.  Or next MondayMonday April 26th.  We know you’re not really interested, but that is the appointed day when these females plan to wobble their bits in public, and — as Jennifer says — embrace the supernatural power of their breasts.

The results, we need hardly say, will be catastrophic .  Landslips, volcano’s, seismic upheavals, rivers of molten lava erupting from the toilet, plagues of locusts and light showers of frogs in hilly areas… all these and more will happen to prove  Mr Sedighi right.  Our advice is to start running NOW.

Or better still, wait for these ladies to flash you, and then run.

It’s Women’s Fault

Burka and bikiniIf you are a woman, you have probably noticed that you have arms and legs, and other bits and pieces too.  Some wobblier than others.  If you are a man, you have definitely noticed that women have all these things.  If you are neither, you are probably a rock or something.

Anyway, it turns out that this Icelandic volcano, Eyjafjalljokull , and the recent series of earthquakes, are all the fault of women and their bits.  Or rather, of the aforesaid bits being on display, and not covered up.  And we have Kazem Sedighi to thank for the information.  As you may have guessed, Kazem is an Ayatollah.

In Tehran.

And he has it on good authority that a public display of female wobbly bits will “cause youths to go astray, taint their chastity and incite extramarital sex in society, which increases earthquakes .”

Iran is subject to earthquakes, more so than… say… Britain, where female bits seem to have little effect.  Though this may be more to do with Iran straddling several fault lines.

Apparently it is exclusively women’s bits which have this effect on the earth’s crust –  male bits seem to be OK, earthquake-wise.  This is obviously why so many women have told your editor that his bits did not cause the earth to move.

Catholic Cover-up

Last time the Daily Moaner reported on the abuse cases within the Catholic church was in November.  You can read the story here.

Brady in Red Dress

Cardinal Brady looks fetching in a Red Dress

Recently Cardinal Brady has been explaining his role in the little matter of Father Brendan Smyth , an Irish priest who was allowed by the Catholic church to continue abusing little boys, long after he’d been exposed as a serial molester.

Back in 1975, Brady had meetings with the complaining children, in which they were persuaded to sign “vows of silence “. This was, the church says, to “avoid potential collusion” which might prejudice the church’s own enquiry.  After this inquiry, Smyth was moved, and went on to enjoy years and years and years of the same, before he was put away.  No church officials contacted the police.  And they must have known that the abuse would continue, because it always does, doesn’t it ?  Once into little boys, always…

All this time Cardinal Brady’s conscience has been troubling him, until this week he could take it no longer, and burst out with a completely spontaneous and scripted expression of remorse.  “Looking back,” he said, “I am ashamed that I have not always upheld the values that I profess and believe in.”

Abused

Nobody Cared

That’s thirty-five years this poor man has suffered sleepless nights, many of them while the abuse — but let’s say crimes  — was going on.  Filled with remorse and shame, doing nothing, saying nothing.  Being forced — forced! — to lie to himself and others. And if we believe that, we will believe anything.

The good Cardinal adds that the church “must humbly continue to deal with the hurt caused by abuse of children.”  Humbly continue… does anyone ever remember a time when the Catholic church was ever  humble?  Look around at all the gold plate, the rich costumes… they don’t do  humble.

What it’s all about

The St Andrew’s Day confession, of course, is part of the Catholic church tidying up before the Pope’s planned visit to Britain in September. Il Papa has his own problems in the area of child abuse.  Voices are being raised ever higher in his homeland about the Ratzinger role in slamming the lid shut on years of abuse.

And he also has problems emerging in Switzerland, Austria and Holland.  America has been and still is awash with law-suits stemming from suppressed child abuse.  Canada ditto.  And no doubt the rest of the planet.

So Benny will, this coming weekend, be sending out a pastoral letter out, dealing with the problem.  Because he needs to get all this stuff out in the open and dealt with (sort of), and then forgotten, by the time he comes to preach to the C of E on the merits of doing a Blair and joining the Catholic church.

There is a well-known on-line betting site, Paddy Power, which has recently reduced the odds on Benny the Rat resigning.  You can only get 3 to 1 now.

Stephen Fry

Your humble and definitely underpaid editor is not a great fan of Stephen Fry. Too ubiquitous, too clever by at least three-quarters, too bloody tall. But sometimes someone comes along who is not afraid to speak truth to power, in whatever form that power appears. And then all you can do is stand with him or against him, as Dubya liked to say.

This is Stephen speaking at the Intelligence Squared  debate. It’s twenty minutes long. It’s worth it. The Daily Moaner stands with him.

Credulous? This Way please…

Irony struck in Irkutsk while local people were celebrating Epiphany last weekend. Over a hundred of them were hospitalised after drinking holy water which had gone bad.

The holy water in question was scooped up in buckets from a local lake, which was stagnant. Presumably lots of tadpoles and plankton and green wriggly things were also scooped up. Maybe the priest blessed them, thus converting them to holy status.

Chimps

Bible Class?

Later, the water will be bottled for consumption, though the Daily Moaner believes it more likely that the water will cause  consumption. But Russians don’t care — they consider any water obtained on Epiphany is holy. And anyway, the tap-water over there is undrinkable.

Is there any limit to the unbelievably stupid things which humans will believe?  Even chimps don’t seem to be this credulous. Though they do grieve for the dead, as shown here…

So who’s smarter?  Them — or us?

US Trains Muslims with Christian Rifles

Latest piece of religious madness to emerge from America (where else?) is that the US troops are training Afghan and Iraqi soldiers to shoot their fellow countrymen with high-powered rifles.  No surprise there.  Shooting people, after all, is America’s favourite sport.

Gun Sight

New Testament Gun Sight

What is  causing a stir are the rifle-sights, which have  cryptic messages inscribed on them.  In the picture, the sight reads “JN 8;12 “, which stands for John, Chapter 8, Verse 12.  “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world. He that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life .”

Other rifle sights carry other references to Jesus from Mathew, and even Revelation.

Trijicon, the makers, say they have been putting the biblical codes on gunsights for years.  On their web-site, they say they are guided by their values, though what values a company that manufactures death-dealing equipment can have is hard to say.  Beyond the dollar, of course.

The US military — every one of them honourable men and never  known to lie — deny the US is engaging in a religious crusade. The Army and the Marines protest Honest Injun they didn’t know, and offered to swear an oath on their holy rifles.  See this wet, see this dry…

And a shareholder in the company, Cornellius Z. Applejuice III from Texas, said “Holy shit!  Them’s some dam’ fine scopes they got there, boy. Yessir, that’s whut the baby Jaysus woulda used on them Muslins. Shoot ever’ last one o’ them, Ah say.  Democrats, too”

And Jesus, revered in the Qur’an as a prophet and messenger of God,  said “No comment”.

Policy Statement:   The Daily Moaner supports the troops engaged in the conflict.  It does not support the conflict itself.

Sunday Sermon — Blair

Filed under: British Politics,Famous Wankers,Men of God,Religion,Sunday Sermon — Tags: , — lenko @ 11:38 am

Your editor is sick to his stomach… hardly able to write these words. For he has just watched the interview between always pleasant Fern Britton and the loathsome Blair.

The man we elected as a Protestant Socialist (who then turned out to be a Catholic Conservative), is currently doing what he can to position himself favourably in advance of his soft-ball inquisition at the Iraq inquiry. That’s the inquiry where he will give evidence in secret, and where they will then pronounce him blameless. And how  is he repositioning himself?

As a Man of God.

Simian throwbacks

Simian throwbacks

Not for nothing was Blair known for years as the Vicar. Now he is trying to justify his unhealthy alliance with the simian throwback Bush. He is attempting to explain the decisions made, the lies told. Today, he is anxious for us to know that he is fighting to eradicate malaria. Tomorrow, he will likely change both sex and name to become Mother Teresa.  A complete make-over.  Although curiously, he will still  remain a multi-millionaire. Some things never change.

The Daily Moaner has only one wish in this matter. And that is to see Blair tried by a truly independent tribunal as a common war criminal. It would be an added bonus to witness him swinging from a gibbet, but then, life is filled with disappointments.

More Catholic Trouble

Crying

Crying

It hasn’t been the best of weeks for the Catholic bishops, on either side of the pond. First, Thomas Tobin, a jumped-up man-in-a-frock tried to blackmail Congressman Patrick Kennedy, by threatening to withdraw the taking of Holy Communion. Mr Tobin is now doing the rounds of the cable TV shows, trying to rationalise his point of view.

Now there comes the release of the long-awaited report into the Irish Catholic child-abuse scandal, reporting on over thirty years worth of crimes against children by those who should have been most supportive of them. Plus the continuing cover-up by their so-called Archbishops, who have their own agenda which does not include the welfare of the child.

And this report follows the one in May, detailing decades of abuse in Irish schools, orphanages and workhouses, run by many orders of nuns, priests and brothers.

Gloating

Gloating

The Daily Moaner, for once, finds absolutely  no humour in this subject.
It seems there is a human equivalent of Gresham’s Law, which states that bad money drives out good. Good people, likewise, can be driven from an organisation, until all you have left are the bad. Especially organisations which are limited to one sex only. One un-natural set of circumstances leads to another.

And the cover-up is always a mistake, for it begs the question: what does the person covering-up have himself to cover up? And even if there is nothing, after covering-up once, he is now vulnerable himself to blackmail, for having covered up the first time. And he must now cover up a second time. And so it goes… and so it goes…

The “mistakes” at Dublin were systemic, and widespread. They obviously did not  begin at the earliest point covered by the investigation. They are also obviously not  limited to the area covered.  You can read Reuter’s run-down on various Catholic sex-scandals within the last few years, by clicking here.

Abuse has become ingrained in the very fabric of the Catholic Church, protected and sustained at the highest of levels. It seems to the Daily Moaner that all churches which practice “celibacy” stand in danger of corrupting themselves.

Pray for Obama — NOT!

Psalm 109 Tee-Shirt

Psalm 109 Tee-Shirt

Republicans (read: religious bigots and phonies) have begun to pray for the President. And there are some cute Tee-shirts they’re producing. Aaaah… isn’t that nice?

Actually not so much. For their prayer is taken from Psalms 109:8, which you will immediately remember reads “Let his days be few; may another take his office”. And you won’t need us to remind you that the Psalm goes on to implore: “Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow”

So… not really a prayer for the President’s well-being. More a curse, really.

Nice people, these Republicans…
