Your editor has half his family currently living in Oz. Yes, they turned their backs on civilisation and have gone as missionaries to convert the barbarous natives to decent values. Or something like that.
So a Very Merry Christmas to Nicky and Ade, and to Casey and Jake. The Daily Moaner is missing you and will be raising a glass (or maybe a can) to you over Christmas lunch.
And thinking of Christmas in Australia.
Lawyers at the Disney Co (and they’ve got a million!) are running around in circles, and it’s all down to too much beer. Specifically, an ad for an Aussie beer made by Jamieson’s Brewery. Those Aussies… such scallywags.
Ho White. The not-so-sweet Beer
The beer in question is called Raspberry Ale, and the ad features seven middle-aged men of restricted growth, and a sweet young innocent maiden, who they kindly make room for in their bed. Sounds like tremendous fun.
Disney believe they own all the rights that ever were to Snow White, a story written by the brothers Grimm well before Walt was conceived. But… they’re Americans, and Americans own the world, so…
But wait! This shy young etc etc is called “Ho White“, which is different. What on earth does it mean? And the seven aforesaid male adults of short stature are called Smokey, Creepy, Smarmy, Boozy, Fatty, Snoopy and Paedo. Probably.
The brewery’s official web-site is closed down, possibly by Disney death-squads, and the ad agency’s site no longer shows the picture. But the Daily Moaner stands firm. The Daily Moaner will never be muzzled. The Daily Moaner will –
Uh-oh! Who’s that at the front door?
Great news for pensioners today from Melbourne, which is currently celebrating national Seniors Week. As part of the arrangements, older people who are — shall we say? — still fully functioning — will be able to present their seniors discount cards, and obtain a discount at Melbourne’s houses of ill-fame.
Australians form an Orderly Queue
Fiona Brownlee, who runs a brothel in Caulfield South, promised to honour the promotion, saying that “heaps” of her customers were 60+, although she wasn’t able to specify how many oldsters would be in each heap.
And a spokesman for the Australian Adult Entertainment Industry said that many establishments would be marking their sexual services down by as much as 50 percent for pensioners. That included visits by escorts to aged care residential centres.
The offer is good only until October 11th.
